Entrust is the new public face of Mission Enterprises (Vic) Ltd
Back in 1974, Eugene Veith, made a gift that kept on giving. The gift was simple yet profound. He didn't write a cheque, he just made a decision based on a heart of compassion, simple living, generosity and faith. In 1974 Eugene Veith decided to give up his right to the future earnings of the transport business he had built over the previous 40 years. He knew that his basic needs were met and transferred the business to Mission Enterprises, a not-for-profit company for the modest sum of $150,000. Mission Enterprises, under the leadership of Eugene Veith and others, continued to run Veith Transport and were actively engaged in the challenges of business life, serving customers, employing staff, maintaining properties and trucks, yet at the same time were being strategic in channelling a large portion of profits to charitable and Christian projects. Since the sale of the business to Mayne Nickless in 1986 Mission Enterprises has continued to develop its capital through investments. Eugene's decision 35 years ago has resulted in millions of dollars being given away.
In 2008 after many years of experience in grant making, Mission Enterprises launched Entrust as the new public face of Mission Enterprises to invite individuals and businesses to partner with us in making a strategic difference in our world. Eugene's commitment to simple living, engagement in business and the release of wealth for the expression of God's love for mankind still underpins of Entrust today. Who knows how many people's lives even today have been changed for the better as a result of Eugene's generosity. You too can be partners in life transformation. Now that's a gift that keeps on giving!
